The Panbio Dengue Early Rapid is an in vitro immunochromatographic, one step assay designed for the qualitative determination of dengue virus NS1 antigen in human serum, plasma or whole blood for the diagnosis of early acute dengue infection.

NS1 detection can help to diagnose an active dengue infection
from the very first day of symptoms as the dengue NS1 antigen
can be detected in serum, plasma or whole blood from the
first day that fever appears.1,2

Detection of NS1 can also provide a specific diagnosis of
dengue infection.1,2,3 This is especially valuable in areas
where flavivirus serological cross reactivity could
confound a diagnosis.4

Earlier diagnosis of dengue allows earlier implementation of
supportive therapy and monitoring. This reduces risk of
complications such as DHF or DSS, especially in countries
where dengue is endemic.
